It’s an exciting time for Southern Wake Academy
The school is undergoing an amazing renovation to provide state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities for its students, teachers and administration.
“We already offer an exceptional learning environment,” said Mr. Carroll Reed, SWA Director. “Our students and teachers benefit from smaller class sizes than at traditional schools, and it feels like a family community at Southern Wake Academy.”
SWA now wants to offer classrooms, athletic facilities, student resource rooms, and meeting spaces that enhance the SWA experience.
“The school has been approved to build a remarkable new building, and construction is beginning during the 2013-14 academic year,” Mr. Reed explained.
The new facility will have three levels. The first floor will contain the gymnasium, locker rooms, and a classroom wing. The main entrance to Southern Wake Academy for students and parents will be on Level 2, which also will host a cafetorium. Levels 1 and 2 will be the SWA high school, and Level 3 will contain middle school classrooms. The new building also will include areas for technology and vocational classes.
“Our hope is that this new building will be completed by August 2014,” said Mr. Reed.
Southern Wake Academy’s goal is to place their quality program in an attractive, learning-friendly facility. Much of the funding for this project has been earmarked. To help out with funding, the not-for-profit Southern Wake Academy Foundation was established.
